OCT 3D Retinal Scans
OCT 3D Retinal Scanning Technology
This is the next generation technology for imaging the internal structures of the eye. Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) uses a state-of-the-art scanner that creates a 3D image of the inside of your eye, similar to an optical ultrasound. This unique way of forming the image means that for the first time we can see the 10 microscopic layers beneath the surface of the retina (the light sensitive area at the back of your eye which is the equivalent to film in a traditional camera).
This scan is easy to do, is simple and painless, and only takes a few seconds to complete. It is suitable for people of all ages, and it can pick up eye problems at a much earlier stage, usually allowing you to have an improved visual outcome with better treatment options.
